Desmond Hotel Wedding | Maureen and Ryan

We finally kicked off our 2012 season, our 14th year documenting weddings in Philadelphia, with the wonderfully green St. Patrick’s day wedding of Maureen and Ryan. We started off at Maureen’s childhood home for the getting ready and lovely light for some portraits before heading over to St. John Neumann Church in Bryn Mawr to meet up with guys who were all full of silliness. The ceremony was full of laughs and tears. Ryan was mistakenly called by another name, and of course that name stuck with him for the rest of the day. Maureen is a teacher so having her past and present students involved was important to her. They each carried down a white carnation to hand to them, they in turn used it for the Blessed Mother presentation. I really got choked up watching these students walk down the aisle, it truly was beautiful. It was a beautiful day out, so we spent a lot of our time for formals outside enjoying the weather. I remember when we met last year talking about never knowing if it might snow on their wedding day. We’ll take the warm sunshine and then the unexpected flowering trees that we found once we got over to the Desmond at Great Valley. It was decorated beautifully, as always, and loved the green uplighting that carried the St. Patrick’s day theme. They did a wonderful job greeting their guests, enjoying every moment, but the day went by way too fast. Thank you Maureen and Ryan, we loved being with you and your friends and family. Congratulations!!

Chester County Portrait Photography with Teens and tweens in the garden

I was so excited to photograph these three siblings in our image garden. I loved how into having their photos they were, and they brought their creativity and enthusiasm to the session. Models in the making for sure! Thank you for bringing your sunshiny personalities, loved every minute!

Being a mom of three, it is so fun to document another family of three. Oh how I remember those crazy days with little ones. What fun I had with this little gang, much laughter and craziness and the newest member of the family just went along with it. Just as in our family, the third child doesn’t have an option, being laid back is a requirement! Thank you for playing, you all are just adorable!

Chester County Engagement Portraits | Jane and Nick at Springton Manor

We had a wonderful time with Jane and Nick this past November for their engagement session at Springton Manor Farm. They traveled down from New England for the session over the Thanksgiving holiday. So looking forward to their wedding this summer. Thank you Jane and Nick, lovely spending the time with you, just lovely.

We spent a most wonderful way of ringing in 2012, a New Years Eve wedding with the wonderful Jennifer and Chase and their friends and family. Because it was a New Years Eve wedding and Jennifer and Chase wanted a reception that would fully allow them to enjoy the celebration with everyone, we had the pleasure of spending 13 plus hours with them documenting the days as it unfolded. This translates into a few more images in this post than normal We started off at their home for the getting ready and first sight. To everyone’s delight, it was beautiful outside for December 31st, so we headed into downtown West Chester for some informal and fun formals. It was time to warm up because even in beautiful December weather, strapless gowns don’t provide a ton of warmth. The service was held at Calvary Lutheran Church and loved all the smiles that Jennifer and Chase shared with one another. We were able to do some lovely family formals after the service and included their 5 month old son who was fast asleep for this portion of the day, so cute! It was time to head to The Village Room at Lionville for the cocktail hour and the party that was eager to happen. But before the dancing got too much underway, there were the most touching toasts by Chase’s brothers and Jennifer’s cousins. Chase and his family now live on opposites sides of the country and his 2 younger brothers miss him terribly and expressed it in such loving ways during their toasts. Not many dry eyes were left after they finished speaking and I certainly was brushing away the ones I was trying to contain. Finally it was time for the dancing and partying and what a party it was. Much entertainment for us. Loved the atmosphere for ringing in the New Year and the excitement of it surrounding Jennifer and Chase. What a way to bring 2012 in. Thank you Jennifer and Chase for sharing this day and yourselves with us. Can’t wait to share all the images with you and perhaps a few incriminating photos of your friends! Hugs!
